The podcasting world is a cultural engine with enormous potential. Every year we celebrate the most interesting content to promote and grow this medium, strengthening the community of listeners and creators alike.

Inspired by the British Podcast Awards and the Australian Podcast Awards, Il Pod was born in 2022 from an idea by Maura Gancitano and Andrea Colamedici together with Fabio Ragazzo, podcast producer and former head of Audible Italia.
The goal is to highlight the many quality projects that flourish every year, creating an event that is as shared and participatory as possible, designed around podcasters and the listener community. Not a simple ceremony, but a day of meetings, workshops, masterclasses and dialogues dedicated to the most exciting form of communication in recent years.
Since 2024, Il Pod has found its home in Piacenza, thanks to the support of the Fondazione di Piacenza e Vigevano, the Municipality of Piacenza and the Fondazione Teatri di Piacenza.

The editions
The beginning
The first edition takes place in Milan. Live podcasts and thematic panels alternate on stage, concluding with the award ceremony hosted by Diego Passoni, Maura Gancitano, Florencia di Stefano and Marco Carrara, with live improvised sound design by Naip.
The growth
The second edition confirms the format's success. The number of nominations grows and the event structure is consolidated with workshops, talks and the final ceremony. The People's Choice Award is born in collaboration with Amazon Music.
Piacenza
For the first time the event is held in Piacenza, in the spaces of the Laboratorio Aperto and Palazzo Farnese. Masterclasses with Nicola Lagioia and Stefano Nazzi, talks with Daniele Tinti and Stefano Rapone from Tintoria. The Premio Piacenza for Breakthrough Podcast is born.
The Municipal Theatre
The 2025 edition takes place in the Teatro Municipale di Piacenza, which has celebrated 220 years of history. Two days of PodLab with workshops and masterclasses, and the final evening with Francesco Costa and Valerio Nicolosi in dialogue with Maura Gancitano. Rossella Pivanti is the new artistic director.
